"When one door closes another door opens, but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us." - Alexander Graham Bell
In High school, Wrestling was life for Lucas. Being a smaller highschooler, he took to the sport and loved every second of it. Wrestling taught him the value of discipline and working hard towards a specific goal at hand, among many other lessons. The biggest lesson it taught was to battle back from adversity and as long as "time was on the clock" you still have a chance to win. Unfortunately, even with all of the lessons, Wrestling taught, and all the effort put in, an injury in the Master's tournament lead to Lucas failing to qualify for the State tournament. Devastated by the outcome of his senior year, the next few weeks held little excitement, looking forward to being done with high school. With all of this newfound extra time, Lucas applied for dozens of jobs in the area. Chico is a college town, so the places hiring seemed to not care about the wave of incoming 18-year-olds who want job experience.
As fate would have it, a letter was mailed to Lucas for an entry level sales job with Vector Marketing/Cutco Knives. An interview with the sales manager Braxton on Tuesday leads to training on Friday and Saturday. Over these two days, that fire from wrestling rekindled which lead to doing 39 appointments in the first 10 days (15 of which happened the last 2 days) and breaking a record in the office. The only reason this was possible was that Lucas had so many people supporting him through this journey. Each and every family member or friend who listened to the script being butchered, to each person who bought even a single knife, and of course to his coach and Chico's manager, Casey Meyer for reaffirming "Unwavering Faith Plus Extraordinary Effort Equals Miracles."
The first 10 days was enough to commit Lucas so he quickly rose up in the company. He won two different scholarships for Sacramento City College through Vector/Cutco and even got a chance to run his own office, recruiting and training close to a hundred people, all at age 19. One of the biggest lessons from his early days at Cutco, Lucas learned to love all forms of self-improvement and self-development. Over the past 6 years since Highschool, he has spent 10s of thousands of dollars on books, courses, events, especially in the financial field.
Spring of 2014, Lucas along with about a hundred people from Cutco got recruited over to work with Vivint, the Smarthome Pros. After a horrendous 2014 summer, Lucas along with three other friends bounced back the next year and all became top 10 rookies for 2015. Lucas was able to earn enough income from 2015 and also 2016 that he was able to take time off for a self-development course called "Epic Impact". This event is held annually in San Francisco and is ran by an ex-Cutco legend by the name of Ben Schemper. One of the big premises of Epic Impact was the Dhali Lama quote of "Be the change you want to see in the world." From that impactful 3 day event, Lucas found his Soul Purpose. This is it in his own words.
"My soul-purpose is to help raise the financial awareness and education of millions and by doing so, help them improve their overall quality of life. I've spent thousands learning from the best in the financial industry in order to learn how to build my own wealth to guarantee my family's future, and through this process of self-education, I realized that hardly anyone had the money and time to learn like I had.
Another realization is that the majority of financial advisors look for middle to upper-income earners because their income comes from the 1% commission they charge for asset management, so of course it makes sense that they would want to work with people who already have money, right? That being said that leaves everyone at the bottom of the economic ladder with almost no options to learn how to build and sustain their wealth.
Everyone in America is taught how to spend money at age 10, but no school teaches kids how to manage it properly. This huge disparity of wealth and knowledge inequality was a slap in the face and I knew I had the tools to help change that and it was my duty to do so. Even though I went into debt to create this website and step by step course, that was nothing considering the potential of impacting thousands if not millions of American's trying to find their way toward true financial freedom."
